Shiatsu

What is Shiatsu?

Shiatsu is the Japanese word for finger pressure. It works on the principal that when we feel pain and inflexibility in the body it’s generally because energy and blood flow have become blocked. A Shiatsu treatment involves body stretching and a combination of thumb, palm, knee and elbow pressure to unblock energy and blood flow which restores balance and relaxation to the body. Shiatsu is based on a combination of therapeutic and diagnostic techniques that originate in Japan with influences from Traditional Chinese Medicine.
